The Georgian National Botanical Garden is one of the oldest botanical institutions, which has gone through several important stages during its long history. Among them were both bright periods of growth and development, and the most difficult years of crisis.
In the 17th-18th centuries, three small gardens were cultivated in different parts of the territory of the present-day Botanical Garden, which belonged to the Georgian Royal Court.
