Stretching along the Black Sea coast, Batumi Boulevard is the city's most beloved landmark and one of the oldest seaside promenades in the region. Its history dates back to 1881, when plans for a public coastal park were first introduced. The boulevard was officially developed in 1884 with the help of Prussian landscape architects and later expanded by French gardener Michel D'Alfons, whose vision helped transform it into a lush subtropical garden. Today, the boulevard extends for around 7 kilometers, blending historic charm with modern attractions.
Lined with palm trees, gardens, fountains, sculptures, cafés, cycling paths, and beachside attractions, Batumi Boulevard is the perfect place to experience the city's relaxed seaside atmosphere. Many of Batumi's most famous landmarks, including the Ali & Nino Statue, Alphabet Tower, Lighthouse, and Miracle Park, are located along the boulevard, making it the ideal starting point for exploring the city.
Fun Fact: In the early 20th century, Batumi Boulevard was often nicknamed "Little Nice" because its elegant seaside promenade reminded visitors of the famous French Riviera.
