Nestled in the heart of Batumi, Batumi Central Park, also known as 6 May Park, is one of the oldest public parks in Georgia. Established in 1881, the park was originally created as the city's first public garden and has remained a favorite gathering place for locals and visitors ever since. Centered around the picturesque Lake Nurigeli, the park offers a peaceful escape with shaded walking paths, colorful flower beds, centuries old trees, and a relaxing atmosphere just a short walk from the Black Sea.
Today, the park is home to several of Batumi's most popular family attractions, including the Batumi Dolphinarium, a small zoo, children's amusement rides, and boat rentals on the lake. Whether you're looking for a quiet stroll, a family outing, or a relaxing picnic, 6 May Park is the perfect place to unwind while experiencing one of Batumi's historic green spaces.
Fun Fact: Before becoming 6 May Park in 2006, the park was known by several names, including Alexander's Garden, named after the Russian Emperor Alexander III, who planted a magnolia tree here during his visit in 1888. That historic magnolia can still be found in the park today.
