Black Grouse Waterfall

The trail begins at the Visitor Center and leads under the canopy of lush broadleaf forest toward the Shromiskhevi River. Along the way, visitors encounter a unique hornbeam grove (400–600 m above sea level), a rare natural feature in the Caucasus.

Further along, the route passes through a mixed beech forest, including hornbeam, ash, linden, maple, elm, chestnut, and other tree species. The trail crosses the Shromiskhevi River and continues along the left slope of Mount Ninigori, following a narrow, winding footpath. From here, hikers overlook the lively river below, with its small cascades and massive boulders that have rested undisturbed in the depths of the gorge for centuries.

At the end of the trail, visitors are rewarded with a breathtaking sight: the roar of falling water, cool splashes, and shimmering rainbows, as a powerful stream plunges between towering green cliffs, forming a stunning 6-meter-high waterfall.
