State Art Museum of Adjara

The State Art Museum of Adjara is a prominent cultural institution that showcases Georgian and international art from the 19th and 20th centuries.Housed in a historic building designed by architect Kakha Javakhishvili in 1949, the museum features a distinctive façade adorned with a relief frieze by sculptor Tamar Abakelia.Since its official opening in 1998, the museum has amassed a collection of approximately 500 works, including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and graphic art.Notable Georgian artists represented include Niko Pirosmani, David Kakabadze, Lado Gudiashvili, and Elene Akhvlediani.The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and educational programs, contributing to the vibrant cultural landscape of Batumi.
