City Guide
Dariali Monastery sits dramatically beside the Terek River, beneath the steep cliffs of Dariali Gorge. Although the complex is relatively modern, its architecture and setting make it feel naturally connected to the ancient mountain landscape.
The complex includes several churches and beautifully decorated spaces, while its position at the entrance to the gorge makes it an easy stop when exploring the area.
Fun Fact: The monastery complex includes more than religious buildings — visitors can also find a library, wine cellar and cheese-making facilities.
Possible Activity: Explore the monastery and then take a short walk around the gorge for different views of the surrounding cliffs.
