Truso Valley

Truso Valley is one of the most unusual landscapes in the Kazbegi region. Located around 22 kilometres from Stepantsminda, the valley stretches through a dramatic mountain environment filled with abandoned settlements, old towers, fortifications and mineral springs.

The valley is particularly famous for its orange and red travertine formations, created by mineral-rich springs. You can also discover the Abano Mineral Lake, Keterisi and the Zakagori Fortress complex along the route.

The valley can be explored by 4x4, horseback or on foot, making it suitable for both adventure seekers and travellers who simply want to explore the landscape.

Truso is also the source area of the Tergi River, which continues north through the Caucasus.
