Hidden in a narrow gorge near Mtskheta, Shio-Mgvime is a 6th-century monastery founded by Shio, one of the Assyrian monks. The complex includes cave cells, churches, and a serene valley setting. Less visited than Jvari or Svetitskhoveli, it offers a peaceful atmosphere and a glimpse into Georgia’s monastic traditions.
