City Guide
Hidden high in the mountains of Upper Adjara, Green Lake (Mtsvane Tba) is one of Georgia's most breathtaking alpine destinations. Located at an altitude of 2,058 meters near Goderdzi Pass, the lake is famous for its crystal clear emerald waters, which are fed by natural mountain springs. Surrounded by dense forests and alpine meadows, it offers a peaceful escape where visitors can enjoy fresh mountain air and spectacular scenery.
The lake's vivid green color changes throughout the day as sunlight reflects off its mineral rich waters, creating a magical landscape that attracts nature lovers, photographers, and hikers. During the warmer months, visitors can enjoy picnics, boating, camping, or simply relax by the shore while taking in the tranquil surroundings.
Fun Fact: Although the lake looks inviting, its water remains icy cold throughout the year because it is fed by underground mountain springs. The lake reaches a depth of nearly 20 meters, making swimming a challenge even in summer.
