Located in the historic town of Vani, the Vani Archaeological Museum is one of Georgia's most important cultural institutions. The museum showcases remarkable discoveries from the ancient city of Vani, once a thriving religious, political, and commercial center of the Kingdom of Colchis between the 8th and 1st centuries BC.
Its modern exhibition galleries feature beautifully crafted gold jewelry, bronze sculptures, pottery, coins, and ceremonial objects unearthed during decades of archaeological excavations. Together, these artifacts reveal the sophistication of Colchian civilization and its connections with the ancient Greek world.
Many of the spectacular gold artifacts discovered in Vani date back more than 2,000 years and are considered among the finest examples of ancient goldsmithing found anywhere in the Caucasus.
