Martinikerk

The Martinikerk is the oldest church in Groningen and has been at the heart of the city for centuries. Inside, visitors can discover centuries-old wall and vault paintings, colourful stained-glass windows and the magnificent Martini organ. The church also houses The 8 Works of Mercy, a series of monumental paintings by Dutch artist Egbert Modderman. Located beside the Martinitoren, the church offers a fascinating glimpse into Groningen’s religious, artistic and architectural heritage.
