David Gareja

David Gareja is a unique cave monastery complex located in the semi-desert landscape of eastern Georgia, on the border with Azerbaijan. Founded in the 6th century by St. David Garejeli, one of the thirteen Assyrian fathers, the complex consists of hundreds of rock-cut monasteries, churches, and cells carved into the cliffs.
