Mtirala National Park is one of Georgia’s greenest and most enchanting natural reserves, located just 30 km (about 1 hour’s drive) from Batumi. The name Mtirala means “crying” in Georgian, a reference to the heavy rainfall that nourishes its lush subtropical forests. The park is home to centuries-old chestnut and beech trees, rare plants, waterfalls, and diverse wildlife, making it a paradise for eco-travelers.
Visitors can explore several marked hiking trails, from short 2–3 hour walks to full-day treks that lead to waterfalls, rivers, and panoramic viewpoints. Local guesthouses at the park’s entrance also offer traditional food and a chance to experience authentic Adjara village life.
